Weekend and lip

The weekends are almost as busy as the weeks!!! Gathering kids for all the sports and getting Halloween costumes together and working (that would be me trying to squeeze in 5 or 6 hours on the computer while Brian's home).

I WISH I had brought my camera, or even my phone (left it at home!), yesterday b/c the four of us got a family picture done down at the beach. It was part of a fundraiser for school and since we haven't gotten a picture taken in a LONG time, I thought we should take advantage of the chance!!

The light was really beautiful and the kids had a great time afterwards --- running and attempting not to get wet. Yeah. Right.

I also got to spy on a fitness photoshoot ---- I actually think I might know the woman being photographed ---- back in the days when I had a fancy gym membership, she was a trainer.

Anyway, in other news: we had our first trampoline accident. No, we didn't get a big trampolene. A friend is letting us borrow her little one ----- and William's teeth went into his lip --- YUCK!!!

So.....recently I've done some exploring and discovered a couple of cookie decorating blogs! It's a good thing too b/c Emily's theme for her birthday this year is "decorating".

It's also very inspiring to see the creativity. I've definitely been missing that creative spark ---- I've been finding myself sketching and visualizing redecorating the house, etc.

Last night I made some dough --- I attempted to make 1/2 the recipe, but found that I had cut all the dry ingredients in 1/2 but not the wet (butter, eggs, vanilla, etc) ---- so I had to mix in the missing dry ingredients. *sigh* That's what happens when you're making two dinners, wiping out lunch boxes, signing off on homework and making cookie dough at the same time.

Anyway ---- here's the website you should check out:

www.sweetambs.com

I hope it inspires you too!!

Pumpkin Patch

a fun family Sunday trip to Moorpark, where we got a little time on the "farm" and picked out some pumpkins. thanks to the Taylor family who came out to join us. Pig races, corn mazes, pony rides and some food. Fall is here!!

(Sadly, this might be our last year here......suddenly the kids seemed so big! Emily was too tall to ride the ponies!! And they didn't engage in some of the rides/playground areas b/c they really were for younger kids. We didn't make it here last year so it was almost shocking to see all the little three year olds toddling around the place and our kids seemed so much bigger!!)
