Seeking the future

June 9, 2016

The buzz of nervous chatter drifted away. All eyes were on the girl. The ball in her hand filled with swirling smoke. Her eyes rolled back and then closed. Her lips trembled. She had her audience. She rolled the ball in her hand. Slowly a face materialized through the smoke. At first it looked like a skull, but then it's outline became more clear. A face. A face the woman who sat on her right recognized immediately. She let out a shrill scream and called a man's name.

Then she fainted.

---- as told to Curious Brown
