First Day

The first day of school was very sweet and painful at the same time. Not painful as in "my last baby is going to K" but painful as in, I had to shake two kids out of a dead sleep, rush to get food in them and get everyone out the door.

William had a one hour orientation and he has the ULTIMATE K teacher. First off, last year she rescued a bunny that was dumped on the school grounds. Polly Bun Bun is now outside the classroom in a little hutch watching over the K students. And as the kids walked in to find their name tags and get a seat on the carpet, the teacher strummed a song she wrote, on her mandelin. I'm not kidding! So great!!

Emily's class was much less dramatic. She walked in and that was about it!! She's got a good friend in her class and her other buddy is right next door ---- so hopefully first grade will be a fun year too.

Tomorrow ---- Back to School

Hard to believe that today has been the last day of summer vacation!!

Yikes!

But we're all ready to get that schedule going again ---- and what a schedule it's going to be!! Emily is cheering and Wiliam has already had his first soccer practice. It will be an interesting start.

I am hoping this is a stellar year, for William in particular. He's so bad at transitional times that I am starting to sweat how K is going to go.

Emily has a good friend in her class and we met her teacher today. I hope it's a good fit and she enjoys learning.

I've been trying to design my work schedule to fit in with our new school year. It's such a battle! Working at home has some real perks but it also has it's downsides ---- so we'll see how this fall plays out!!

Hope everyone is enjoying these amazing changes that are going on in all our homes!!

Arthritis

Dear Pearl has been limping for two weeks ---- we finally caved and took her to the vet. A nice chunk of money later we are looking at x-rays and determining that our sweet puppy is definitely in the Senior category. (sniff)

She's on some meds, we've had a consultation with an ortho, and we'll be trying to get her back on track. Hopefully post-poning any surgeries.

First step is to get her on the leaner side of her weight. Her goal: drop 10 lbs.

Our vet has suggsted some different foods and adding some veggies.

Interesting to see how she managed to leave her veggies....keep in mind they were MIXED in with the food......even our DOG IS A PICKY eater!!!

summer camps

The summer days are getting crazier around here --- but I wanted to be sure to show you some pics from camp --- SEA LAB was an amazing experience for William. He absolutely loved it!! (not that that's a big surprise b/c it was all about sea life....but some times the best laid plans.....) And Emily spent two weeks in Beauty and the Beast drama camp and came away with another fantastic experience.

Here ya go:
