I forgot to mention......
...that I have found (Ok, our neighbors told me about it...) the BEST friend chicken spot. We brought it as a pot luck to a New Years Eve Party and just about everyone agreed that the HONEY KETTLE is the best restaurant for fried chicken.
I don't eat FC very often.....maybe once a year. But I don't think I can eat it from a different source EVER again.
That's how yummy this chicken is.......go try it!!
The chatter about 2014's resolutions is finally dying down.
I have to say that I do love a "fresh" new year ----- and always have MANY ambitious ideas.
But the days are already ticking by and I've started slacking!!
I don't want to repeat a year like 2013 where I was pulling my hair out and juggling way more balls in the air than humanly possible. All that does is make me feel bad because I can't keep up.
This year should hold a wonderful vacation for us. It's been THREE years since we've gone anywhere for a significant chunk of time. (and FYI ---- Brian and I haven' t been away by ourselves for SIX years!! Feel sorry for me please)
Brian will most likely work on two new projects which will keep him busy.
William is growing in ways that only a Kindergartner can grow.
Emily continues to amaze us and I hope will finish first grade with a new found confidence.
I want most for everyone to take CARE of themselves this year. ESPECIALLY me!! I hope I can write in December that I've babied myself a bit. Teken the precious time needed to eat healthier, collect myself mentally and feel as if I'm gaining some momentum in my personal goals.
I also know there will be some sadness this year. Two relatives are not doing well and I am praying that they might surprise us and get better.
I hope you've geared up (or are gearing up) for a great year !!

One of our day trips over the Christmas break was to LEGOLAND!! And it did not disappoint.....
One of our favorite rides is the Dragon roller coaster.....
And I have to have my ride through Fairy Tale Land....
And uncovering fossils at the Dino Dig is still a favorite.....
This time around we discovered the whole "mini-figure trade" and how the search is on for the Mr. Gold mini-figure. Only several hundred made for the entire world!!!
Lego was THE gift (and pajamas!) of this year's holiday season. To our astonishment, we didn't have one toy that needed batteries this year! No video games either! I'm sure this is a fluke and it wasn't planned that way ---- but we really are thrilled that LEGO continues to create such amazing sets. And that kids can enjoy building and creating on their own.

We checked out the SEA LIFE aquarium and then headed home ----- never enough time to do everything but it's always a good time!!!!
It's hard to believe that it's 2014!!
Thinking of all the amazing and not-so-amazing things that happened over this year.
And of course, planning out what this new year will hold for us.
Christmas Eve was a yummy and fun time spent with our wonderful friends, the Meinhardts.
Christmas Day was a wonderful, crazy, fun day ----- spent opening generous gifts, eating delicious food and visiting dear friends.
Sadly, the above pictures are all I have of the events!!! I guess I was enjoying myself too!!
